Welcome to Quantum Leap Therapy
My name is Marilyn Soghomonian and I offer Professional, Compassionate & Confidential Therapeutic Counselling in Reading Berkshire. I work one-to-one with adults over the age of 18. I’m also a Master Practitioner in Eating Disorders & Obesity and specialise in Weight Management, Anorexia, Bulimia, & Binge Eating Disorder. My training is integrative, which means I work predominantly with a person-centred approach (working with the here and now) and a psychodynamic approach (working with issues from the past).
Most of us at one point or another may feel extremely stressed by life circumstances, when troubles, fears, and anxieties become too overwhelming; low moods or depression may leave us feeling helpless, anxious and alone. At times, we may feel there is no escape from our struggles, but with the right support and guidance we can regain control of our life and emotions. With the help and support of a professionally trained counsellor you can gain a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships and your past experiences.
Counselling offers you the opportunity to explore your thoughts and feelings and gives you a sense of being deeply listened to and understood. Working with a counsellor you can resolve conflicts that prevent you from being your authentic self and from living a full and fulfilling life.
The counselling relationship and process creates the right conditions for you to grow emotionally, and to gain the insight needed for change and transformation. Counselling offers you a safe, private space to talk about your issues or difficulties in complete confidence, without being judged, allowing you to explore your life, relationships and emotions in a way that is not possible with friends and family.
My therapeutic approach is integrative, which means that I work predominantly with a person-centred and psychodynamic approach to therapy. This simply means that we would work with what’s happening in your life right now or the ‘here and now’, as well as exploring issues or relationships from your past and how these may be impacting your present life.
I offer both brief counselling, which is helpful where immediate help is needed to work through an immediate crisis, overwhelming stress, habits or life transitions such as loss, divorce, career change etc., and long term therapy for more common and complex mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, trauma and eating disorders.
