Weight Management Programme

What keeps these negative cycles of habits, thoughts, and behaviours in place, which lead to piling on the pounds and chip away your sense of self-worth?
Many people who suffer from the painful cycles of weight loss and weight gain, or yo-yo dieting, know all too well that diets don’t work. Reducing and maintaining a healthy weight range is not just about stopping eating, depriving and rewarding yourself with food. It’s more about understanding and changing the emotional reasons behind your desire to overeat – the often desperate and uncontrollable need to “self-sooth” with food.
If you feel that you are your own worst enemy when it comes to reducing and maintaining a healthy weight, and would like to break free from the habits that keep you stuck, then hypnotherapy can help you tap into your inner resources for change which are usually not easily accessible to your conscious mind. Unlike most weight reduction programmes that focus only on diet and exercise alone, the weight programme works equally on changing your mindset and changing your behaviour, which are both essential to successful weight management.

Hypnotherapy can help you achieve all of that as it allows the mind to be filled with bright, positive images and feelings; simply by imagining, thinking and feeling yourself as slim, fit and healthy through hypnosis, you are more likely to set the wheels in motion to changing your over-eating habits.
How does the Weight Management Programme work?
The Weight Management Programme has been designed to change your mindset and to empower you to make the right choices to reduce your weight naturally and in a healthy way, without punishing your body with repressive eating regimes or brutal workouts. It is flexible enough to adapt to your own specific needs and each session is tailored to address the specific nature of your weight issue/s. My role is to help you become aware of your thinking and negative associations around food, so that you can take back control of your emotionally charged or habitual eating patterns. I work with a variety of therapeutic techniques which allow you to explore and release the underlying reasons for your weight problems, so that you can begin to identify and change the negative patterns and triggers that are keeping you stuck.
In addition to identifying and addressing underlying emotional causes which may be undermining your weight loss efforts, this programme also allows you to evaluate how your lifestyle, habits, mindset and trigger situations (including people around you) may be affecting and maintaining your current weight issues. It’s at this level of self evaluation and reflection that real and lasting change occurs, as you start taking control of your own responses and learn to apply new problem solving skills.
Throughout the weight management programme you will learn some practical skills and tools for change which you can apply easily in your own time and between sessions. Applying these practical tools will ensure that you can build on and maintain your progress.
Motivation to Reduce & Maintain a Healthy Weight Range
As with any other emotional or habit related problems it’s important to bear in mind that in order to gain maximum results from this weight management programme, it’s crucial that you are motivated to bring about change and weight reduction – and motivation here simply means being Ready, Willing and Able to bring about all the positive changes that you desire. As a hypnotherapist I cannot wave a magic wand and cause you to reduce your weight, but I can help boost your confidence and ensure that you tap into your inner resources for change. My role is to facilitate those changes and support you every step of the way.
Please note: If you’re experiencing an obsessive preoccupation or an extreme emotional and behavioural response to food, weight and body shape , coupled with compensatory behaviour such as starving, binging and purging, then you may be suffering from a more complex problem such as an eating disorder. Medical Check – Recommendation
If you have a specific medical problem or complaint, it is recommended that you seek help from your GP or medical practitioner before you seek hypnotherapy. This will allow you to have the necessary checks to determine whether your condition has a physiological or medical cause. More importantly, if such a condition is identified, then the appropriate medical intervention can be applied. Hypnotherapy can then be a useful complement to other medical treatments.
Your health may be compromised if you use any extreme weight control behaviours (even if occasionally) as there are many physical complications that can arise from extreme food restriction, fasting or losing weight too quickly, from self-induced vomiting, abusing laxatives/diuretics, as well as from extreme exercise.
